This data represents the locations of eleven major vegetation types present in Ohio before colonization of the area. The map was originally drafted in 1966 based on information contained in various vegetation surveys compiled by Robert B. Gordon of the Ohio Biological Survey of The Ohio State University. The Ohio Biomass Energy Program digitized the map into ARC/INFO for use in compiling a map of the Renewable Energy Resources of Ohio.
